Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 June 2026

Fit-to-Token is a Chrome extension that overlays the ChatGPT web interface with an ambient eco-feedback widget, helping users reflect on the relationship between their physical activity and the energy cost of AI usage. This Privacy Policy explains how Fit-to-Token handles user data.

1. Data we access

With your permission, Fit-to-Token may access Google Health API data or compatible health and activity data, such as:

Fit-to-Token only requests access to data that is necessary for the extension’s functionality.

Fit-to-Token also reads the content of your prompts and responses on the ChatGPT web page in order to estimate token usage and the corresponding energy cost. This processing happens locally in your browser. The text of your conversations is not sent to Fit-to-Token’s developers or to any external server.

2. How we use data

Fit-to-Token uses activity and energy data only to calculate and display a personal prompt-energy allowance inside the extension, and to recharge that allowance when you are physically active. ChatGPT conversation text is used only, and locally, to estimate the energy cost of your prompts. The data is used to provide feedback to the user and to support the core functionality of the extension.

3. Data storage

By default, Fit-to-Token stores extension data locally in the user’s browser. This may include settings, recent activity and energy summaries, calculated allowance values, and locally computed usage logs.

If a future version uses a server backend or cloud synchronization, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such data processing begins.

4. Data sharing

Fit-to-Token does not share personal health, fitness, ChatGPT conversation content, or Google user data with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.

5. Limited Use disclosure

Fit-to-Token’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs, including the Google Health API, will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. User control and deletion

Users can revoke Fit-to-Token’s access to their Google account at any time through their Google Account permissions page. Users can also remove the Chrome extension to delete locally stored extension data from their browser.

7. Security

Fit-to-Token uses reasonable technical measures to protect user data. Access to Google user data is limited to what is necessary for the extension’s functionality.

8. Children

Fit-to-Token is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to consent to online services. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
